Knights Templar

The Knights Templar was a group of a few knights and monks (some believe they began with nine) originally led by Hugues de Payens who offered to protect Christian pilgrims who traveled to the Holy Lands a few years after the First Crusade.
Hugues De Payens

  • Grand Master- The highest ruler of the Templar. This was a very powerful position. The Grand Master stood below only the pope, yet he still had to abide by the same code of conduct as all the other knights in the order.

Knights of Templar

The members of the Knights Templar are commonly revered as nobel and brave. They vowed chastity, poverty, obedience, and swore to the protection of the Christian pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land. There were many groups of bandits sneakily waiting along the sides of the road, ready to pounce upon and murder the travelers.

Many myths circulate around the Knights Templar. Some of which are the Mystic Ladder, the Rosslyn Light Box, and a Bearded Head, just to name a few.

There are currently a few groups who call themselves the Templar, some more serious than others, but for the most part they do charitable acts.
